Truth for the Weary Hearted
Giving in or giving up. Taking a chance to be the one that changes everything. A regret that you could never be what you thought you would be. A decision. A choice taken from your hands. A heavy heart filled with endless hope. In the end, it is nothing more than you and me holding back from letting go.

a little bird
A little bird, in a cage, sat sweetly singing one beautiful, ordinary day. She was loved by her master, adored and cherished. Each day the sun rose, she knew her master would peer through her cage doors and whisper, "good morning." Each day, he did. Until one day, he came home and opened her cage door. He picked up the little bird and took her outside. He gave her a kiss on her beautiful feathers and released her into the air. She flew around for a while and landed on a branch. When she looked back to see her master's sweet face, he was gone. The door was locked and she was all alone. She flew to the windowsill and looked into her home. Through sad, heartbroken tears, she saw another bird with even more beautiful feathers than she could imagine resting in her cage. Her broken heart carried her far away from that windowsill. She never flew home again.

Patience is still a virtue
Lesson learned this week? Patience is an overlooked and very necessary virtue in my life. I cannot forget this again. Patience is the virtue that sustains all other virtues. Hastiness has its benefits, but it isn't the most effective means of living life. Hastiness often leads to mistaken meanings, judgements, or unjustified feelings. If I have patience, all things will work themselves out. I cannot doubt that. It has been proven over and over again. So, I will begin practicing patience in my life as difficult as it may seem.

A room with a view
I can feel my wings expanding even now. Once they have spread out and felt the wind under them, carrying them higher, out into a new world, they will never want to close again. It is powerful knowing that only the open sky and the limits of your own strength will carry you across the horizon. Can one ever return from flight? Only if one is resting in a room with a view.

In the middle
In the middle.
In the middle of a tornado? Bad.
In the middle of a hurricane? Bad.
In the middle of the ocean? Depends on what you're in.
In the middle of traffic? Sucks.
In the middle of a pickle? How fast can you run?
Being the middle-woman? Bad, if you want to be the woman!
In the middle of this? You are still reading.
In the middle of life? Good.
In the middle of a great movie? Good.
In the middle of the night? How tired are you?
In the middle of a rainstorm? Who are you with?
Sometimes you just end up
In the middle.

In this life, I hope I. . .
1. Grow a giant pumpkin.
2. Have more friends than enemies.
3. See the Eiffel Tower, the vineyards of Tuscany, the pyramids of Egypt, the Great Wall of China, Stonehenge, and the deserts of Africa.
4. Write a novel and have it published.
5. Fall in love with someone who loves me back.
6. Surf in Hawai'i.
7. Change someone's life for the better.
8. Stand in the Garden of Gethsemane.
9. Become a mom.
10. Find passion and hold on to it in everything I do.
